About

I work on identity, individual and cultural, and on how images build it. My underlying question stays open: who am I, who are we, inside which figures do we recognize ourselves. I don't look for the answer, I play with the question.

I take the icons of the collective imagination, mythologies, saints, masks, bodies, fetishes, and I dismantle them. I break the forced bond between form and content, I shift the point of view, I let the image produce short-circuits that only it can afford. What seems naïve, light, even kitsch, hides ambiguous scenarios: the bittersweet sense of life arrives from the side, never frontally.

It is a sacred and dissident game. I desacralize to liberate, I use irony and lightness as serious tools, I treat myth as the story of a culture and identity as something modular, dismountable, re-coverable, never fixed once and for all. My works are devices open to the intervention of the other, that change with the gaze of those who look.

Keeping the question of who we are open is already an act of resistance to the imposed icon, to the algorithm, to the single narrative. Identity not as a closed image, but as a field of forces always in recoding. Works as devices of freedom.

Based in Rome. Born in Ascoli Piceno, trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Projects developed in India and Saudi Arabia. Practice: painting, performance, mixed media, sculpture.
