I work on identity. individual and cultural. and on the way images construct it. My underlying question stays open: who am I, who are we, in which figures do we recognise ourselves. I don't look for the answer; I play with the question.

I take the icons of the collective imaginary. mythologies, saints, masks, bodies, fetishes. and I dismantle them. I break the forced bond between form and content, shift the point of view, and let the image produce the short-circuits only it can afford. What looks naïve, light, even kitsch, hides ambiguous scenarios: the bittersweet sense of life arrives sideways, never head-on.

It is a sacred and irreverent game. I desacralise in order to liberate; I use irony and lightness as serious tools; I treat myth as the history of a culture and identity as something modular, demountable, re-dressable, never fixed once and for all. My works are devices open to the intervention of the other, changing with the gaze of whoever looks at them.

Keeping open the question of who we are. Identity not as a closed image, but as a field of forces always being recoded. Works as devices of freedom.

Raised in Ascoli Piceno. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid; diploma at the Ygramul Academy of Anthropological Theatre. I live between Rome, Ascoli and Riyadh. Projects in India and Saudi Arabia. Since 2019 I am the founder and artistic director of the PHERSU Festival in Rome. I teach courses and workshops in visual art and performance in schools, academies and independent spaces. Practice: painting, performance, mixed media, sculpture.
