Selvatica
Untamed nature. Bodies and animals that refuse the frame.
Critical text
Selvatica is the territory where my painting stops restraining itself. Figures. bodies, animals, hybrids. cease to be illustrations and become presences that occupy the space rawly.
Decorum is gone. There's a direct contact between the gesture and the surface. Colors vibrate without mediation, animals are disproportionate, bodies transcend their anatomy. It's art as the state before civilization: where every form is still open, every animal is still a possible god.
Selvatica is not a return to nature. It's a refusal of the frame. It's the painter who forgets to be polite.
